8/21 - 8/26 In-Person Timber Frame Class

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION!
 
This class will be 6 total days.  Monday 8/21 - Saturday 8/26.
Located in Portland Mi. 
 
In this class you will learn everything you need to know to build your very own Timber Frame. We will start with raw timbers and cut, assemble, and raise the finished frame at the end of the week! It is designed for beginner and advanced people. We will cover choosing timbers, tool discussions,  cutting to length with hand saws, sharpening chisels, laying out joinery, cutting mortise/tenons/dovetails with saws and chisels, saw milling demos, chain mortiser demos, planing and routing demos, assembly and raising of the final frame! We will be focusing on the Mill Rule method of Timber Framing.
 
You will also get full access to Shelter Institute's online Purely Post and Beam Timber Framing Course AND thier SIP Panel class (valued at $800) That way you can always go back and refresh your skills and also learn the engineering, drafting, and SIP buildings concepts that they teach in those classes that we will not be going over in our in person class.

Once you sign up you will recieve a document with additional information such as the tools you need to bring, lodging, nearby airports, food options, etc. 
 
** The total price of the class is $1950. This $500 payment is a non-refundable deposit and will applied to the total. An invoice will emailed for the remaining $1450 balance. In comment/message section on the payment page, please indicate if you would like the invoice for the full remaining balance or broken into 3 equal payments. Total payment is required 7 days before the class starts so depending on how close we are to the start date when you sign up, you might not be able to choose the payment plan. I am willing to work with students any way I can to help so dont hesitate to reach out regarding payments.
