LUMBER

One of biggest shocks to me when I started woodworking was the difference between buying demensional lumber at the big box stores and quality hardwoods at a true hardwood dealer. It's a totally new world and can be very overwhelming. One of the biggest differences you'll notice is that the lumber is not all the same sizes. They will usually be in groups of the same thickness but the length and width of each board will be different. I will be writing a blog post and potentially doing a video going over buying hardwoods in much more detail.

In the mean time feel free to call my friends at Johnson's Workbench and they will explain all you need to know. They can fill whatever your lumber needs you may have and have the lumber shipped to your door.
